RE: Check valve for shurflow pump?

Here's an easier way. Turn the pump off when your not using water.

You may have caps on the ends that just screw off like mine do.

RE: Truck Suck/ Wind Sway

Get a sway bar but, your always going to get a vacuum when a big rig is flying by you and you'll feel it. Just be prepared.

RE: Fresh Out of College & into a Class A??

I'm an Architect and work out of my TT that's parked on the same 25 acres that my house is on. I use it all year long. First, An RV is not an investment if your talking about money. Someday it will be worth nothing. I like a TT because I only have one engine and drive train to maintain. I dump my tanks with a tote every couple weeks in the septic tank clean-out at the house and that works well. I supplement my gas furnace with electric when it gets below 20F. I fill up my water tanks as needed with a hose by the barn. I also have a 30 amp service to the TT from the barn. It all works out well and after you do it you'll wonder why you worried about it so much before taking the plunge. Being a Mechanical Engineer I'm sure you do fine. It's going to cost money but, less than renting an apartment. Hope this helped a little.
What's really great is that I can hitch up and work from any camp site as long as I have cell service with internet.

RE: To Upgrade or not to Upgrade?

That's a lot of money to have in a TV just for towing. But on the other hand your wet weight is probably maxing out the F-150. I'd just live with it because I don't think you'll fry the engine in the F-150. But, if you have the money a new truck isn't an issue. I tow at 4500 to 5000 rpm on 7% grades a lot. Just get your rpm's up before attacking the incline.

RE: best light weight travel trailer

I like mine because it's the best ;) The 08 models aren't fiberglass sides but, Holiday Rambler Aluma-lite's are of high quality. Worth a look.

RE: How do you clean the awning?

I use vinyl siding cleaner in a pressure washer with the soft contact tip. I wash the whole RV the same way and get it done in about an hour.

RE: Week, Month, Seasonal

A guy came by running a mobile pump out service, 20 bucks for 2 forty gallon tanks. Sounded expensive to me because it's not that big of a deal to empty them myself once a week or so. What I'm really looking for are campsites that offer month and seasonal rates east of the Mississippi on the waterfront.

Nolin Lake SP Kentucky

Verizon shows Extended Enhanced Services for the area on their map. My question is, is that true or is it barely any service or good service? I need internet for work while I'm there.
Thanks,

RE: Anyone else not an MPG-checker?

I don't check mine because I don't want to know and it's just more useless calculating. Also, it varies so much depending on the route, wind, traffic, altitude, temperature and so on.

Week, Month, Seasonal

I stayed at a campground (they're all campgrounds to me) last week that had week, month or seasonal sites w/o waste hook-ups. Is there a term for these types of sites and where do you find them on the net? This place I stayed had a whole sheet of rules they hand out, i.e. No clothes lines. You cut the grass at your site if you stay more than a week with their mower. No entering or leaving the CG after 11pm, and the typical rules and reg. you see a lot. Are these rules common? I boondock at NPS CG's often where the maximum stay is two weeks so this stuff is new to me.
Thanks

RE: Plastic flavored water

Put 'TastePure' in your tank every time you fill it up. Our Walmart has it and it works. I use the liquid that comes in a plastic bottle.

RE: Awning and wind?

Keep the rafter knobs tight and many winds won't hurt it. Also, you don't have to put the awning all the way out. I'll keep mine out 1/2 way in winds over 15mph with no problems. My awning is out more than it's in and stays cleaner.

Quart size zip lock bags make good block ice. If you have the room gallon size works.

Coleman Extreme Marine, white with handle and wheels. I've tried many others that just don't work.
